Hi i have just bought a new motherboard, cpu and graphics card for my computer. I've installed the mb & cpu correctly, and it turns on no problems and can enter bios. I have my hard drive and cd drives connected up but when i turn on computer, it won't detect them. It takes ages to get past the detecting stage, and then it comes up with:
Searching for Boot Record from SCSI.. Not Found
Boot Failure, Reboot and select proper Boot Device or insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device.
Press Any key when readyI Don't know why it wont detect my hard drive or cd drives. My Hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda ATA IV 40gig. When i enter the bios, in the BIOS features setup, for boot devices I can only select Floppy and Realtek Boot.
Do I need to flash the bios or something? I don't wanna make a move until someone can tell me what to do, I've heard stuffing up flashing your bios can kill the mb.oh and btw my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-7VKML

Why is it looking for a SCSI? ARe you sure the hard drive is not SCSI?
Try reseting all the defaults in BIOS (NOT flashing it.)
Also, listen to the computer as it boots. Can you hear the hard drive spinning? Are all the cables in correctly? Does bios detect the floppy (you should here it hit the floppy soon after boot up)
Try manually setting bios with the drive specs (cylinders, heads,...). The specs are printed on the label on the hard drive.
