I just put a computer together and the bios showed everything was running fine. I'm running a Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI mobo. I proceeded to install windows. I put the cd in my dvdrom. The computer would not boot from the drive. It said: "boot from cd/dvd rom," but didn't do anything. I tried booting the cd from my dvdrw and got the same thing. I changed the boot priority on the primary to cd rom and still nothing. When I was reaching my patients limit, I turned on nvidia raid and it still wouldn't boot. After I turned it on I noticed my dvdrom/dvdrw wasn't recognized in my bios. I disabled raid and it still didn't help. I tried unhooking my dvdrw and had the jumper on my dvdrom set on master and it's still not showing in my bios. I also tried the opposite and got nothing. When I let my pc sit with the cd in the drive I get the message:

PXE-E61: media test failure, check cable.
PXE-M0f: Exiting Nvidia boot agent.

I tried using a different ide cable and got nothing. I tried using both ide channels on the mobo and no luck.
I've built several computers and have never had this problem. Any suggestions?
