Boot Failure Due to RAID

I built my computer a few months ago and configured my two 80GB hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration (I believe it's 1). Basically, the drives mirror eachother. I recently wanted to get rid of this configuration and planned on doing so by formatting the drives through my Windows XP CD, no dice. I tried unhooking one of the drives and installing it that way, and still no luck. At this point, The computer will not start up with the HD's connected properly. In fact, it won't even start up with a bootable floppy disk. The only thing it will startup with is a Windows XP CD, but once I enter the installation screen, it fails to recognize any hard drive that is connected. The strangest part about all of this is that the BIOS does recognize the one drive that is connected, but the CD won't. I'm at a complete loss as where to go next. If anyone has any ideas or solutions, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

Download DelPart, put it on a bootable floppy. Make sure the floppy drive is set first in the bios boot sequence. Boot from the floppy and have DelPart delete all partitioning on both drives. Then try a new XP install.

DelPart seems as though it could help me only if I could boot from my floppy drive. I hit Esc when I see the BIOS screen and once all of the controllers finish detecting their devices, a boot menu comes up. I can choose which device to boot from and I choose the floppy drive, but it reverts back to the previous controller screen and attempts to boot from the CD-Rom drive. I'm completely at a loss. It's worse than just not working at this point, it's just not making any sense.
