my toshiba satellite laptop is hooked up to my LG 47LE5400 television screen (as previously used) and suddenly the screen blinks on and off for from 1 to 15 seconds. I tried replugging the cable (cable is good and is new), tried resetting the tv screen, tried changing monitor refresh to 85 hz, tried turning things off, removing cables, turning them back on and hooking up. Still same problem. It worked the day before, why now?
Why are you using the RGB? Do you have a laptop with no HDMI? Do the graphics support 1920 x 1080? Did you try 60MHz?
no hdmi, tried 60, still blinks 1 to 15 seconds. resolution is at 1280x800 which is max. The laptop screen does not blink, only the LG screen.

Component signals (RGB) only carry a resolution of 525 scan lines, there is no need to max out your resolution. Try the resolution at the lowest setting.
Will try HDMI cable. Other television screens work just fine with the rgb setup, but the LG one does not. Touchy. I'll let you all know how it works.
