So my laptops screen just stopped working and all I get is a blank white screen anytime the computer is on. I hooked it up to an external monitor and it worked fine so I dont really know what that means. I didnt drop it or anything. I have heard about loose ribbon cables or something but would like some input before i go unscrewing everything. Thanks for your help
Most likely it is just a bad connection between the LCD display and the system board. I would try to reseat the video connector on the back of the LCD screen first and check if it fixes the problem. After that I would try to reseat the video cable connector on the system board. I would also reseat cables if there is no video on the LCD screen at all.
