Specs: Windows 95
Had dead BIOS battery; replaced and set time - no problem. Turn on laptop and receive Thinkpad screen with amount of memory in upper left corner and no option to enter CMOS setup. After ~15 seconds, screen goes blank and hear quick ~5audio clicks - not beeps, and nothing further.

It would seem that you probably jostled something loose, or zapped something when you were in replacing the battery.

No, it wouldn't boot before I changed the battery. I was able to set the time (before I changed the battery), and it would give me the same indications described in the initial post. Thanks. I was just wondering if there was an easy way to rest the CMOS to original configuration, and maybe it would come to life.

It was given to me when the neighbor purchased a new netbook. I saved their photo files from the hard drive (removed and put in a hard drive enclosure). I think I'll just scavenge the hard drive, the modem, memory and the ethernet PCMCIA card, then chuck it.
