Hi,

I'm having the following problem with a new system.
First the specifications :
MB : Asus p4s8x-x
Proccessor : Intel 2.667 Ghz
Memory : pc2700 512 MB

My problem :
When booting the system hangs during the POST. I see it checking my harddrive and dvd-rw than it just hangs with a black screen. No beeps.I have to turn it off by holding the power key for more than 4 secs.

The next time I boot the bios shows up with the msg that my cpu speed is set incorrectly. It is set like :
multiple 20 x
cpu frq : 133/33

My memory freq is set to 166 Mhz. (i have an award bios).

The strange thing is when i reboot and don't change anything, the computers boots up fine without any msgs. No problems running any of my OSs. When I turn it completely off, even take the power cord off and turn it on again within a period of 5 minutes or so, it boots fine.

When I wait for say 20 minutes the same boot problems arise...

What do you think is my problem ?
I've checked my memory with memtest86, it's fine.

I've changed my video card, that also wasn't the problem.

Could it be my power supply ? I suspect that... because of the strange behaviour when turning it of and on again.
