Hello,

i have a dell dimension 8200, i have upgraded the PSU to a 300W (this is what i should have installed in my PC to run a X800 pro vivo). When i put i the new X800 pro vivo card into the agp slot and then turn the computer on, the computer will boot up without any problems, but just before the windows XP loading screen the screen goes black/blank. The monitor, CD rom and HDD light stay on at this point. As soon as i put my old card in then it boots up fine with no problems.

Can any one suggest away of getting around the problem when i have the X800 pro installed?

THANKS IN ADVANCE
Ankur Agarwal

Start up in Safe mode.
Once at the desktop install the drivers for the new card and then reboot.

The problem described in the original post sounds like a driver problem like Bryco suggested.

The problem described in response #2 is very strange. I guess it could be a defective card.

Hi, i installed the card in another computer and it worked, this is about a year old and it had no problems so i am guessing that it was the problem of my old Dell computer.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
