have a ibm pc350 with lastest bios,
trying to install a fujitsu m1624tau 2.1 GB hd ata2 interface
my chipset is a intel 430hx with ata 16.
is it possible to get this drive to work with this system?
no luck with ibm forums or manuals [have them all pretty vague on these items :(] Thanks!

You might have to input the HDD characteristics(Cylinders, sectors, etc) manually into the BIOS. Make sure the color side of you ribbon cable is on pin #1 on your hard drive. Make sure the HDD is jumpered properly(master, slave, etc).

jumpers and cables are correct, the bios automatically detects the hard drive, there are no manual settings avaliable,
bios is proprietary to ibm.
thanks for your reply!

You probably should FDISK the HDD and reformat the drive. Get a Win98 boot disk and copy format.com on to it. If your BIOS recognizes it, it is a matter loading dat to it now.
