Solved BIOS updater not working.

Specs: Windows Vista
So I'm trying to update my BIOS to the newest update. I downloaded the updater from the Asus website (an .exe file) but I can't open it. Every time I click on the file to install/use it, I get a black square command screen which nearly instantly vanishes. I can't run the .rom update file if I can't utilize the updater... any suggestions?

My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate

✔ Best Answer
2 suggestions:

1. Do NOT update the BIOS unless there is an absolute need

2. If there is an absolute need, go to the ASUS site & read how the BIOS flash is performed. Doing it from within Windows is NOT the best way to do it.

Sorry guys, I am entirely at fault here. I didn't even bother checking the compatibility of the BIOS version with the CPU model. It looks like I don't need to update it after all!

That's a really good way of turning your computer into an expensive door stop!
