Hello Today I tried to update the bios of my sager notebook NP 7280. The bios program got stuck on a loop and did not finish. Now the notebook cannot be turn on. Have I got myself a big pile of rubbish?
Many thanks
Ed

possibly. Take out the battery and disconnect from mains. Press & Hold the power button for 20 secs. Now re-insert the battery and connect mains. If it still won't start then there's a fair chance it is bricked. Goin' Fishin' (Some day)
Probably. If the above does not help, contact the mfg's tech support. If they cannot help, it is now a paperweight.

This is why you should never attempt a BIOS update unless there is a significant reason or benefit in doing so such as a problem that that particular BIOS update addresses or if you need support for a newer CPU. On a portable computer, you should always have the battery fully charged and the power cord plugged in as well. On a desktop, it is best to be plugged into a quality UPS to prevent power issues. You should never do an update just because there is a newer BIOS version available. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
