So this is a laptop then? Contact the manufacture for help.

Why were you flashing the BIOS?

I have a dell Studio 17 laptop. This was an update that initiated by the dell update center.

I have also searched the dell support website with no real answers. Do I buy a new battery and hope this solves the problem?

I doubt a new battery will do anything. Generally speaking a bad BIOS flash turns the motherboard into a brick. In the case of a laptop I don't know if the BIOS chip is even removable.

If this update was advised by Dell I would request help from them.

Is the laptop under warranty?

There may be a method the Dell tech support knows of to re-flash. Possibly using a flash drive or CD.

Do you see anything on the screen at any point?

I agree that you now have a real problem and your best bet is to talk to Dell. I'd have to say that it was extremely foolish to do a BIOS flash whilst your battery was completely drained, but it's easy to be wise after the event.

Unless you have a special bios that can be fixed by some boot disk then you have to send it in to be re flashed at the factory.

Why did you do such a task anyway?? This is a classic case of doing something for no reason.
