'CMOS checksum error - Defaults Loaded Warning! CPU has been changed . Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS setup and remember to save before quit! '

my keyboard is freezed and it is not allowing me into the bios setup or allowing me to press F1 to continue.
I have taken the backup of my old bios.
I am unable to start my system. Please let me know , how should i proceed.

Thanks

Try resetting the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes...make sure to unplug the power cord 1st, or the BIOS may not clear. Reinstall the battery, then try to bootup...

I have removed the cmos battery and then reinstalled it. But I am still unable to cross the initial booting screen. Keyboard is not getting activated. I could find a difference in the display when booted the system with out keyboard. The following is the display what I am getting with keyboard connected :
------
Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
Copyrights (C) 1984-98, Award Software, Inc.
www.ROM.by, BIOS Patch v.4.21

BIOS-I (81223)
Celeron(Mendocino) - MMX CPU at 300A Mhz
Memory Test: 163840K OK
Award Plug and Play BIOS Extension v1.0A

Detecting IDE Primary Master ... ST340015A
...
...
Detecting IDE Secondary Slave ... Pioneer DVD

CMOS Checksum error - Defaults loaded.
Waring! CPU has been changed.
Please re-enter CPU setting in the CMOS setup and remember to save before quit!

Press F1 to continue, Del to enter Setup

Without Key board connected:

Noticable difference is the www.Rom.by... 3rd line) is missing , Celeron(Mendocino) is replaced INTEL(R)CELERON(TM) (5th line) and there is a difference in date at the bottom of the screen.

I even replaced another keyboard and cmos battery and tested.

Thanks.

Hi All,

I could solve my problem with connecting a usb keyboard and was able to access the bios. But, If I connect usb keyboard , bios is not detecting the 40 gb hdd. I could restore my old bios. Please let me know the bios update for '07/10/1998-i440LX-8679-2A69JT19C-00'.

Thanks for the support.
