I'm having problem with my on board audio controller. I found the problem, which is due to the BIOS setting which is somehow set to be 'Disabled'.

However, when I went into BIOS, and 'Peripheral Setup', I couldn't find any 'Audio' item at all. Please help.

Motherboard: MSI (MS-6340)
VIA Chipset, AMI Bios

It could be called AC 97 or something like that. Try enabling everything in your onboard settings. BTW the onboard sound usuall is $^@* so if I were you I would get a sound card. You gett cracking sounds and hiss from the onboard sound.
