Make sure you know which key takes you into bios setup and start tapping it as soon as you turn on the computer.

If you can't get that to work and it's a desktop you can open up you can try clearing the cmos. With the power cord removed move the jumper from the standby position to the clear position for a few seconds and then back to standby. Then start up the PC. The bios will detect that settings--particularly the date--have been reset and usually pause and ask if you want to go into bios setup.

Are you sure this a BIOS ROM Checksum Error or a CMOS Checksum Error. There is a difference

The former is extremely rare and difficult to fix the latter very common and easy to fix. The CMOS Checksum error is fixed as described above

A BIOS Checksum error indicates that the BIOS has become corrupted and as such, it cannot do anything. As the BIOS is in ROM it is very difficult for it to get corrupted but that can happen, especially after flashing the BIOS.

So did you flash the BIOS recently?
