Help - My other desktop PC won't boot. The following message apears as soon as I turn the computer on:

BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR

DETECTING FLOPPY DRIVE A MEDIA...

INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

Has that PC just had it's BIOS flashed cos that error means that the BIOS ROM code doesn't match the one that was generated the last time the PC was booted up.

You could try clearing the CMOS, if this doesn't work (it probably won't) you will either have to try to flash the BIOS, get a new BIOS ROM or a whole new motherboard.

you bios is corrupt.

find your motherboard type and go to manf. web side and download bios file, and flash program. For more help you can find on manufacturer web topic corrupt bios ( you have to create a floppy with flash progaram and bios file.
