i am piecing together a computer but i cant get it to work. the motherboard is the old 80's i think. all the drive conections go on a seperate card. i installed it into a case with everything installed first. because i just swapped mobo's. anyways when i hooked it all up, i started it and it either said keyboard error, or hard drive failure. booting with a boot disk dont do anything. if i try to get into bios, i need to enter a password which i dont know. the bios battery is however not easily removable. more like a soldered on thing then a large button battery. does anyone know if its possible to reset the bios and possible help with the hard drive failure? thanks!

Did you look for a clear CMOS jumper? It should be marked. Sounds like the battery is still good. KillCMOS should work. Find it here: http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/13/7/13-7-60.shtml
