Hi, im currently having a problem reloading xp home back onto my Samsung V25 system after i reformatted my hard drive. I tried to load with cd, but when trying to install i realised that my bios wasnt detecting my dvd/cd-rw drive (mwaa).
Tried to update bios through floppy and external hard drive to no avail, and was wondering if theres any other way-than to go through the hassle of finding a new cd drive,
any ideas would be greatful- or any solutions to the ideas already tried.Cheers! :-)

If reseating the IE cables, do not help, clear the CMOS and swap channels with the optical drive.

There is only one satisfying way to boot a computer.

Make sure the controller the cdrom is connected to is enabled in cmos/bios setup. Make sure it's drive ID is AUTO.
