BIOS locked hard drive

Acer / Emachie e725

Specs: Windows Vista
Alright here is my situation. I had an Acer Emachine that suddenly does not want to start. It would power for 5 seconds with lights on and the CD drive working and stops. deciding it could be a motherboard problem I gave it up.

The laptop was BIOS Password protected due to personal security reasons. Anyway the hard drive I have was a SATA hitachi. The problem is I got a enclosement case for it and wanted to plug it into another laptop but it won't recognize it and won't even show up as another drive.

I know the BIOS password to the hard drive and I'm wonder how can you get into the Hard Drive? Any solutions?

Unless this is a special type of hard drive made for usually enterprise customers it should work in an external enclosure.

What is the exact model of the drive?

Even if locked it should show up as an unknown filesystem but still show as a drive.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

Reinstall the hard drive in the laptop and then use a live version of Linux, like Puppy, to access your files. That shouldn't be a problem if you have the password.
