BIOS hangs. I think I flashed my BIOS with the wrong update. I have a HP 760n. There is a ASUS P4B266-LA MOBO in it. The problem is that I went to the ASUS website to find a BIOS update and found the P4B266 w/o the *-LA* and flashed my BIOS. Come to find out I should have used the one from HP.
The machine will Boot to this point.

I also have one of the post boards and it is giving error 4E - Check manufacture POST loop.
I have tried hitting every key. Tried unplugging everything down to the CPU. I do get a different error when I unplug everything and try to start it.
Can't boot to floopy. Tried hitting DEL and F1 on boot to enter SETUP, can't.
Please help. Please don't tell me I need a new motherboard.
I do know for a fact that I flashed with the wrong BIOS. I DO have a copy of the OLD BIOS, but I can't get to a dos prompt to flash it again. I should have used the one from HP's website.

Using another computer:
copy the old bios file to a blank disk
rename to awdbios.rom
Now place the disk in your "dead" machine and boot.I kow this works when the bios is completely corrupt but you do seem to get somewhere so It might not work

Tried that. No go. The PC makes a call to the floppy drive, but it is real quick (as if to make sure it is there).
Any other ideas????? PLEASE

Try a bootable diskette and no hardfile attached. If you can get it to read a plain DOS diskette, you have a chance of flashing the BIOS.
If you have a USB attached keyboard, you should try a PS/2 plug keyboard instead.
It might be necessary to try removing the CMOS battery if you can to kill CMOS setting so it comes up with a default.
You may have to look for a Flash Eprom on the system board, it its not internal to one of the modules, and have it flashed with the correct BIOS on a different system.
