It has been coupled of days that when I shut down or restart my computer, I get a blue screen saying that “A fatal exception 0D has current 0000:00000000. The current application will be terminated” and nothing happen when I press Esc or Enter so I restart manually and as soon as windows 98 logo pops up computer freeze up. I tried clearing CMOS but then I get this massage that “CMOS checksum error- defaults loaded”. And after this massage, computer reboot normally until the next time I restart or shut down.
Help please.

The CMOS check sum error is you clearing the CMOS. It looking for what to load but you removed everything, so it's loading the default settings.
Go in to BIOS & pick the options you like or load defaults AND save before you exit.
The only thing I could find about the error is it's a Windows 98 error involving DOS app's running or out of date device drivers(video), w/ a AMD XP 2100 why don't you goto XP/2000?
BTW have you installed any Win updates? LOL>
