I was running fine with my Lite ON cdrw until I tried to add another HDD to that bus. (Bus 2) Ive checked cables and jumpers but I can't get the bios to recognize the CDRW at all now with or without the new HDD

First, make sure you have the cd rom set as a slave, and the hd as the master. If its an old seagate, there is a second jumper you must set for master with non ata slave. When you booted did it detect a secondary dual fifo? Go into your bios and use auto detect hdd. Thats what I had to do with my old asus p2b to run a hard drive on my secondary ide.

If you are using 80 wire cables, the master must be on the end connector and the slave in the middle.

I have a SHuttle XPC 61G2 and using all new hardware, the cdrw is a Lite on 52X. I think I may have hooked up both the hdd and cdrw as slave initially and since then I cant get the cd to come back in bios. Is it possible to kill the CDROM doing that?
