bios dead?

Well, i found this laptop around my house and i was messing with it, its a Dell Latitude CPx J and i was trying to update the bios which i belive i did. Then the laptop restarted and came on but i didn't see nothing on the screen. so after like 5 seconds the laptop turns off automatically. What did i do? kill the bios?

well there was no reason, i was bored and i found that laptop around my house so i started to mess with it lol.
