Bios Corrupt

Whenever I turn on my other computer all I see is a bunch of blinking lights and symbols at the top of the screen, that's all nothing else happens. And my floppy is broken so I can't flash my bios. Could I take the battery on the motherboard that powers the bios out and put it back in, would that reset the bios or is there something else I can do. BTW - The motherboard, cpu and ram is only 2 weeks old brand new.

I would suspect a defective video card before the Bios.

So would I. In fact I would suspect a defective everything else except the BIOS although the video card is the most likely culprit in this instance.
The chances of the BIOS being corrupt is very slim and is the last thing to check when all else has failed. Flashing the BIOS is an action of last resort.
When you have checked the probable, eliminated the possible, then only thing left is the impossible, thats the time to flash the BIOS.
What might be corrupt is the CMOS memory and removing the battery may sort that out, although using the jumper on the motherboard designed for that purpose is a lot easier.

I found out that my room mate was on my computer last night and that he was changing settings in bios. Could that have caused what is wrong with it?
