I have a M2N-VM DH motherboard. I am TRYING to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version which is, "BETA Version 1503". I want to have the phenom processor core. But to have that I need the update. I downloaded the file and the file name is "M2N_VM_DH_1503.BIN" I don't know how to install it onto my BIOS to upgrade it. I read all around the internet and can't find an answer on how to make it work. Can you guys give me a BEGINNER from beginning to end on how to install this file??? Or is it just because It's still in BETA version, that that's why I can't install it? Please tell me how to install it. I have NEVER updated a BIOS before became I got interested in upgrading my processor.

Website for my motherboard's download for the BETA Version 1503:
*Click on the "DOWNLOAD" tab and look for the BIOS version update to 1503. It's beta and its the first the on the top of the list.

People have also been talking about some type of BIOS flash, like what the hell is that?

Remember I'm asking for a beginning to end on how to install my BIOS update. Thanks.

Don't "read all around the internet", read what's on the Asus site. According to the CPU Support list, the beta BIOS only supports ONE specific Phenom - the Phenom X4 9450 which only runs at 2.1GHz. There's no guarantee that any other Phenom will work. Unless you truly have a need for a quad core, a faster dual core that wouldn't force you to upgrade the BIOS would be a better choice. To be honest, an AM2+/AM3 board would be an even better choice.

Performing a BIOS flash is risky business. Most Asus boards have a crash free BIOS, but there's always a chance that you may "brick" the board.

Read how to upgrade the BIOS:
