Specs: Windows 7
My laptop bios wont link up with my DVD its the chip thing. Is there anything still going on with that and HP. The machine is good no DVD but the guy told me that it will die on me soon if it over heats. Never was told by HP or Best Buy who worked on it when the chip was failing. They hid it from me.

Perhaps you can give us more details on the actual make and model of your laptop; makes it easier for pholks here to help (as/when...)

Incidentally - it would appear that if the chip is failing (and apparently they can and do - the little solder balls crack away from the pc board - which itself cracks when overheated..., either one replaces it or replaces the laptop...

(I'm quoting immediately above - albeit very briefly - from some comments and info on the www via a google trawl/search.)

Presumably this laptop is no longer under warranty?

Based on one or two recent issues here surrounding kit bought from/via BestBuy... I'm seriously coming to think they're anything but a best buy...
