HI everyone
I have before worked with the pinnacle DV500.
now i am looking to buy my own video editing hardware.
The purpose of me using it is as follows.

I want to capture video from my Digital video camera, also from the VHS player onto my computer, i want to use windows xp pro.
See the pinnacle hardware didnt have drivers that work on xp.

Now the last thing i want to do is save movies to mpeg2 and to avi... some cards i've seen only takes to on of those two formats.

Thank you in advance everyone..

Pinnacle software seems to be pretty highly rated in the reviews that I've seen. I don't recall if it outputs in both formats. But there is free software available to convert between video formats.

Thnx ernie.

I am talking about hardware though.
I know the pinnacle hardware already and was wanting to know about any other hardware for video editing which you all might think is just as good or ever better than pinnacle...

Hey. I also have a Pinnacle DV500 DVD and I am quite happy with it. I also have XP Pro and i havent had a problem with any drivers. BUT when i load my software (premiere 6) it recognises it as Win 2000. It could possibly be that the newer release driver versions can support XP better than the earlier versions. If your looking for an upgrade, I'd recommend the Pinnacle Pro-One. That looks like an awesome package including premiere 6.5 and loads of extra software.
