Decide on what features you need and then look at the chipsets that provide those features. Then look for a MB that bundles those features in the form factor you want. The nforce series of chipsets are rich in features, but not all of them are used on most boards. Additionally, if OCing is of interest you need to find a manufacturer that offers options in the BIOS geared toward that goal. This will narrow the choices down to a few, or less. Then read the reviews on each. IMO SLI is a waste of money, but that's just me.
