Keep in mind that the parts that you have, like your memory, video card and maybe even hard drive, might not fit on a new motherboard. You have to check and make sure of that.

Judging from your other thread, you're not very experienced. You couldn't even clearly explain what went wrong with your current system...I still have no idea what you did.

Also, your 7600GS is not gonna be usable on a new motherboard. AGP slots are a thing of the past. And depending on what speed your RAM is, it may not be worth reusing either. The power supply is another issue & do you really wanna continue running a P4?

You may as well just figure out what's wrong with your old system...either that or plan on spending more than $500 for a rebuild.

Well im experienced in software more than hardware. I was not aware the guy that ordered the stuff for me orederd a XP motherboard cap. So I went to the site to update the motherboard when I did it restarted and would never come back alive.

I have 2g ddr2 on ram, dual core 3.0 processor.

You're still not explaining it clearly.

There is no such thing as an "XP motherboard". And you still haven't said what it was that you tried to update on it? When I ask if it was the BIOS, you said "i downloaded it from website than tried to run file"...what does that mean? You said you know software, why is it that you can explain what you downloaded?

Also, you didn't say what speed your RAM is. "2g ddr2 on ram"...what is that? DDR2-533, DDR2-667, DDR2-800, etc?

MSI replaced a board for me a few years ago under warranty and the service was great.

I think I pooched the bios chip using it for a testbed for over a year. Fill out a RMA on the MSI site and see what they'll do for you. In my case, a new motherboard arrived 27 days after the disaster.

If you're lucky, you'll only be out postage one way. MSI will contact you and let ya know where you stand.

Can't hurt to try...there's sure very little we can do with the information you're providing.

I recommend you find some "how to build a pc" sites and do some reading.
