Looking in to buying some new case fans that don't produce a lot of sound. Which brand is the best case fan that doesn't produce a lot of sound but won't cost you too much either?

I'm looking at 1 120mm and an 80mm case fan.

Anything below 15 dollars each would be where my target range is going to be.

Thanks.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ OC 2.7ghz
2GB Dual Channel DDR 3200
Nvidia 7800GT
SATA II 2x 200gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0
Gigabyte Nforce 4 SLI

I don't buy any particular brand...I look at the specs & the price, then hope for the best. This 130mm Thermaltake fan caught my eye recently. Unfortunately it has a sleeve bearing, but the price is right & the CFM & dBA ratings are good:

Thanks jam that does explain it.

Have any of you guys tried any of those exhaust fans that hooks in the back of one the parallel case slots instead of a fan slot?

I notice that they are a little more then a typical case fan but are they better?

If you reffering to a Turbine System Blower, I have to say I have not used them before, but I am not eager to use a slot type fan as a case fan unless I have heat issues specifically with my graphics card & have PCI slots to spare.

Sabertooth-My son got one of the PCI turbine blower fans.It ended up being
an artifact at best.

It is kinda cute though.

Coolermaster has a patent on "rifle bearings". I've read that they're as quiet or quieter than sleeve type & have the durability of ball type. I don't know exactly what they are though.

There's also Ceramic bearings. They're supposed to be cheap, quiet, & last MUCH longer than either ball or sleeve bearings. Check this one rated for 300,000hrs...that's over 34yrs!!
