I am going to build my first PC, and I'd like to know what the best brands are. I already know that logitech make the best mice, AMD make the best CPUs (for gaming), OCZ makes the best RAM, PC Power & Cooling makes the best PSUs, creative makes the best sound cards, ASUS makes the best video cards, DFI makes the best motherboards, western digital makes the best hard drives, klipsch makes the best speakers, Lian-Li makes the best cases, saitek makes the best keyboards, but who makes the best CPU coolers? Who makes the best LCD monitors? Who makes the best burners? What about microphones? What do you guys think?

Here is what I am planning on building:

I think there could be some debate on some of your best choices. Especially memory. You need what brand of good spec memory will work in the MB you are going to use. MBs, sound?

Agree...some debate on all of his best list.

This is all good gear; OCZ makes good memory and has outstanding warranty service.

Satanic,

A "makes the best" statement like you posted makes you sound like you're twelve years old and repeating something you saw in a magazine. The long line of url's also makes it hard for us to dig around to check out your choices...a simple list is just as good and saves you some time too.

That's a list of the most expensive stuff Newegg has and you can build a state of the art system for much much less. Just what the hell are you going to do with a ppu anyway? Do you work at MaximumPC?

I came up with those brands by skimming through hardware forums like these and checking out what other people got. This is going to be the first time I ever build a PC from scratch, and I want at least five years out of it. Three without an upgrade (hopefully,) and two mabey with an upgrade here and there. The PPU is for an upcoming game this year that uses it, based on the Unreal Engine 3.
