Hi,

I'm having problems with my recenlty bought Asus 7900GTX... i hadn't had any problems with it untill now, Today i played battlefield2 Armored Fury for i think 1,5 hours and then i saw huge artifacts.. took a screenie of them right away:

A big black bar and spikes emerged from the ground... i assume this is my graphics card's work.. And since it's not overclocked or anything.. i see no way how to fix this except returning the card and hope they send a new one back..

Or is there something else that could cause this..?
I really hope so because otherwise i'll have to wait another week or so before a new card arrives:(

Getting big bar's and spikes in the ground dosent really seem like it would be a hardware/cooling problem to me, seems more likely to be something wrong with the game, drivers or DirectX. If there are any patches for the game get them and get the latest drivers I think 91.XX was just released at nVidia. If it still happens you might want to try re-installing the game. If all this fails it could be your graphics card.

Hmm.. well i did just reinstall the driver back to 84.21... because the 91.XX driver makes my system crash when i want to watch WMV movies on the internet...

But i dont think it's the PSU; i've got a OCZ Modstream 450W with 26A on +12v.

"450W with 26A on +12v"

The ATX12V 2.xx spec suggests no more than 18A on the +12v rail. If the amperage is to exceed that, a 2nd +12v rail should be added...& if 36A is to be exceeded, a 3rd +12v rail should be added. The reasoning is that the relatively small wires used in a PSU cannot handle more than that safely.

Regardless of that, make sure you have the latest motherbaord chipset drivers installed & the latest video drivers. And before updating the video drivers, make sure to uninstall the old ones (Control Panel > Add/Remove) & then run Driver Cleaner Pro:

i don't do much gaming but when i play moto gp on my radeon 9100 128mb card i get strange triangle shapes on screen after i have played for maybe 20 minutes. If i stop playing for a while and then start again all is ok. I have always believed it is due to the graphics card getting too hot from the 3d demands of the game.
Do you have the problem if you start game when computer first switched on or only after a long time of playing, does it do it in other games. if after you get the shapes on screen you leave the computer idle for a while and start again , is it ok?
