I switched on my puter and all I can get is the red hd light and a regular beeping alarm noise. It will not read any of my drives and I cannot get it to boot at all. I've tried disconnecting drives and all peripherals and nothing makes a difference. Any ideas anyone? TIA Cris

thanks for the tip. Tried that and it made no difference. I've given up and ordered a new tower after taking all my bits and pieces out. Think it must have been the motherboard and the system's too old to replace that. Thanks for your help. Chris
