Comment:

I switched on my puter and all I can get is the red hd light and a regular beeping alarm noise. It will not read any of my drives and I cannot get it to boot at all. I've tried disconnecting drives and all peripherals and nothing makes a difference. Any ideas anyone?
TIA
Cris

RAM? Try removing one stick, if you have two.

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

thanks for the tip. Tried that and it made no difference. I've given up and ordered a new tower after taking all my bits and pieces out. Think it must have been the motherboard and the system's too old to replace that. Thanks for your help.
