Well funny thing I removed my old ATI AGP RageII card which was working fine... put in a ATI Rage Fury Maxx 128Pro 64meg card and the screen didn't turn back on after I powered up... figured the card wasn't in right, I removed it and put in my old AGP card and booted up and still no screen... switched the new card back in and still got nothing except the blue smoke of death and sparks emiting from the agp slot and 3 burn marks on the video card after shut down.... took the card out and pluged in an old ATI PCI card and the screen turned on and everything is working fine...but i presume the AGP slot is dead?? Am I correct?? can it be repaired?

You do realise that there are different voltage requirements for different AGP Cards ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agp

Both the AGP Cards are quite old for a newer mobo !

So if you fried the AGP slot it is time for a new MoBo.

Yes a new mobo would be an idea or just a 256meg pci video card. Such as this one for example

But i did not know about the different voltages for agp cards, so thanks for the info.

Here's a better one from the same site.

The 92XX cards suck ass. The 5200 or 5500 in PCI are far better especially if you can find a 128Bit one. This is pretty much the best you can get for PCI:

Still best if you can afford a new mobo though if your going to want to do anything graphics intense.
