i have a compaq presario 1700t laptop that is about 5 years old, given to me by my cousin. the laptop runs of a/c power, but not off of the battries. i have 2 battries for it. windows reconizes the battery and sez that it is at 0 %, and that it is charging. but it never charges!! the charging light on the front of the laptop doesn't light up either. when i first got it, i ran it off of the battery for awhile, but then i tried it in the car one day, it booted up, and was about to play my dvd when it promply died! neither battery worked!! it ran off a/c fine when i tried it later that night. what could be causing this? i heard that the battery circit could be fried, but if it was, would windows still reconize the battery? any help would be great.
The batteries are dead. They won't take a charge as they have nothing left to charge.
