i have a hp pavilion a6514f. its about 1 yr and 1 month old. roughly 2 months ago it started crashing and going to blue screen. i get error messages "apc_index_mismatch , page_fault_in_non-paged_area , memory_management , irql_not_less than_ or equal_to , ect. " i ran both hp hardware diagnostics and windows memory diagnostic. hp diagnostic showed no problems but windows diagnostic showed a problem. i then pulled one ram card and tested again. no problems on eather diagnostic. swapped cards and tested again. again no problems. it has stopped crashing now but im only able to use one ram card slot. do i have a bad card slot? is there another possible reason for this type of problem? if i do have a bad card slot how do i repair that? how much should a computer tech charge me to work on something like that? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

If it is a bad slot and I believe that would be rare, you don't repair it you would replace the motherboard.
Are both sticks those that came with the machine or was an upgrade done recently? Are the sticks a matching pair?
LikelyI want to go like my grandfather did. Peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming at the top of my lungs like the passengers in his car.
