I'm trying to figure out whether I have a bad motherboard, or a bad power supply. I'm trying to help a friend get an old computer working again. When we try to boot, I get 4 long beeps and then the computer dies along with all the fans and whatnot. We've tried 3 different power supplies, so I'm guessing that we are dealing with a bad motherboard. Anyone have any ideas?

Disconnect all the drives from the power supply and motherboard. Pull all the cards and try again.
