Bad pic on monitor

December 27, 2010 at 10:49:45
Specs: Windows 7, Core i 7 4 gigs
Gigabyte P55M-UD4 mobo, i750 cpu, nVidia 9500GT gpu,Win 7 home premium. This morning the pic on my display was completely stretched out of proportion, could not see the task bar. Tried another gpu card, same. Tried another monitor on vga instead of dvi and pic was fine.
Put original monitor back on and still bad. Put original card (9500 gt) back in and still bad. Hooked up a 24" DEll, one I am using at different pc and pic size is good, but pic is red. Can any one tell me what is the problem? need new card? Settings? It is set at 1920x1200 which is correct setting. Thank you all. Monitor is an HP 2335, which is an old monitor, but was purchased as new recently from Geeks. com.

You may have inadvertently set the display to span two monitors. That will really stretch out the screen. I suggest you start over by removing all the listed graphics drivers and then re-installing new. Then reboot and allow Windows to find the new drivers.

Right click a blank part of your desktop and choose Screen Resolution.

Is the correct monitor listed there?

Is the correct resolution for the connected monitor listed there?

Sometimes a pin or more can get bent or pushed in and that can cause problems. I don't know why a cable would go bad otherwise.
