Hi all,

I just bought 3 new sticks of RAM (GEIL), 512MB each...

Now, when i put them all in my motherboard (mobo supports up to 3GB) it crashes very often, also Prime95 gives me an error just after 3 sec.
I know it's not my RAM's fault because i tested them in 2 other systems without any problems.

Before these 3 new sticks i had 2 older sticks (PC 3200)and my new ones are also PC3200, so that can't be the problem, but i also had some problems with my old sticks.. sometimes when i booted up it said "system failed memory test",
But it never crashed.

So what can this be?? a bad mobo? or something strange in the BIOS?

Thanks in Advance

Oh btw,
I just tested it with just 2 of the new sticks and now it isn't crashing anymore..
But when i add a 3rd one i goes crashing again..(doens't matter wich slots or sticks i use)
so what is this? a bug in my mobo that it can't support more than 2 sticks??
Should i get it fixed??
ThanX

oh btw, i have a Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe.

Did you go to bios to see if the RAM is configured correctly?

You may need to check at the mainboard manufacturer site for a bios update.

BTW, if you use only two sticks on first slot and 3rd slot then your comp is in dual channel mode, if you use 3 slot, then it should be running in single channel mode.

Comper,
If you've followed the Memory Configuration guidelines om Pages 28 and 29 of A7N8X-E Manual, then either the memory is bad or not supported by that motherboard.
