Hello well recently Ive been having this error while buring cd's on nero and I believe the error was "cd calibration error"(BTW I took them out cleaned them and put them back in and still same thing) first I tought was because the blank cd's were dirty and semi scratched because I got them from a friend. Some gave me the error but most worked. Then the other day I bought a new pack of 30 imation cd's and I burned one then the other gave me that cd calibration error then I tried another and it burned normally. So whats going on my burner seems to be working normally nothing out of the ordinary no problem except that. So nowadays some cd's come bad like that? or is it my burner?thanks for the help

It's the drive! i have the same problem..., try updating to the last version of Nero, that "strangely" worked for me 'till now.. :(
Another posible way to get arround this error is to use simulation & writing (although in my case it only worked for 10 times or so in a row )...
And yet another way (the one i'm using right now) is lowering the writing speed...
But probably the first thing you should try is to update your firmware! unfortunaly for my drive there isn't one available..maybe you're more lucky then me...
GooD Luck!

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice...

So you have the same problem as me as in that some cd's just wont burn but most will or does your burner not burn at all?

i think some cd's are cheaper quality, tend to be more disagreeable. for those writing at half the burner's ability seems to get around errors, like power calibration. i have like these CDs i got at wal-mart, 50 for $8, sometimes i can burn 48x, but i usually settle for 24x. i never have this problem with more expensive CD-rs, like sony, and memorex.
