Okay.. still having voltage problems.
both hardware monitors are telling me that my 12 volt voltage is at 6.22, 5v is at 4.09, i/o voltage is at 2.21 and my core voltage is at 1.15. ive been having random reboots and system crashes lately.. its a really really cheap power supply that came free with my case... should i get a new one? if so, could you reccomend any cheap ones? thanks again.

have you put a volt meter on one of the device power couplers? I wouldn't trust the software to tell me the truth when there is this big of a difference.

A new power supply would be in order if these figures are correct. You may have "brown outed" [damaged] your mainboard since the io and core voltages are thru the mainboard and not a direct connect to the power supply like with the 12 and 5volt supplies.

Otherwise I would suspect a mainboard misconfiguration which would influence the software monitors as well as io and core voltages.

Use a voltmeter to confirm the 12 and 5 volt measurements !

Wait, you want to replace a cheap PSU with a cheap PSU. Dosent make any sense. Your power supply may not be rated for an XP 2600+ combined with whatever else you got in your case. Let us know how many watts it is and maybe even the manufacturer. But yes most definetly I would recomend a new PSU - if thats the case.

your machine would not boot at those voltages. You really have no evidence of a power supply problem yet, its more a mobo voltage reporting problem.
