I turned on my computer, black screen with heading saying 'BIOS 4.0', then when it starts to load winxp, the computer restarts. This time I tried again, and pressed F8. I selected 'Safe Mode'. Computer restarts while windowsxp tried to load.

I took out the modem card as told, and the fans were okay. What is the problem? How can I get into the command prompt? Usually when a computer loads there's some writing saying "Press F'x' to edit BIOS'. But Acer does not seem to allow it. What else is there I can do?

Computer Specs:
Acer Veriton 3200
s58m motherboard ---BIOS unknown
winxp

Do you have a "legal" copy of XP? If you don't and you installed SP1 and then tried to bypass activation you will get the same result.
