I installed windows 7 on my HP Pavilion zv6000 and the audio does not work, i have found the correct software for it and windows says the best software for this device is already installed, it always took me forever to get the sound working when i installed windows xp and as a matter of fact the last time i reformatted my computer with xp the sound didnt work and i couldnt get it to so i upgraded to 7 thinking it would have the correct driver package included but it still doesnt work im not sure what else to try.

That model of lab top doesn't even meet the windows 7 system requirements If you haven't already check your device manager.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/... Have you updated Drivers ?? HP only list XP as a supported O/S you will need to go a Googling !!
http://www.hwinfo32.com/download can inform you of the OEM Hardware in the laptop
chili, have you even looked up windows 7 minimum system requirements? Straight from microsofts site. •1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
•1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
•16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
•DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher device
I have upgrade the ram to near 2GB im not sure what your talking about with that.
also like i said the audio has always been hard to get working even with windows xp i have used Driver Magician to download the drivers, Windows even says the correct drivers for this device is installed But the sound doesnt work.
When i had XP on it which i would prefer myself however my dad uses the laptop even downloading the drivers from HP wouldnt work i always had to go elsewere.
