Comment:

I'm buying apc for audio recording purposes.
My choice is P4 socket 775 3.0 mz, mb asus p5gcd de luxe, 1 gb ram DDR2 533, 2 hd western digital sata 160 GB, video KXK Geforce FX6200 TC (128 mb).
Is this a right setup.

Is a better choice a MB with ddr 400 (Not dual channel) but with 2 gigas?

I need some advice!
Forgive my poor English...

For audio that setup will be fine. 1GB of RAM will be plenty. Once you get past 1GB of memeory, the benifits drop of rapidly.

If the primary function is to be audio recording, the sound card will be the most important component.

For 'audio' recording and old Pentium 1 will do just fine.

Sure, go for it...Trim costs by buying DDR400 (PC3200) and only 1 GB, and get the best microphone and sound card you can afford.
