Subject: Audio input output ?
OS: WinXP Pro SP2
CPU/Ram: 4800+ / 2 gig
Model/Manufacturer: Custom
Comment:
Not sure if this is the correct forum but I was wondering if there are potential problems plugging in the audio out from my computer into the A/V inputs on a TV?
I ask this because I have seen some make and model TVs that advertise PC audio inputs along with A/V inputs and I recently hooked up a computer to a TV using the S video input and the output from the sound card (old Creative Live) and though the picture worked fine (albeit a bit blurry on the desktop though videos played fine) when there was sound the picture distorted 'in time' to the sound.
Am I 'over-driving' the sound inputs on the TV or is it just cross-talk between the S video cable and the audio cable which ran beside each other?
Should I reduce the volume levels on the PC or will that not have an effect?
Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Use the line out on the sound card/chip. That is unamplified audio.

OTH

I believe I did use that output or at least I only have one choice. The card has a gameport, a mic plug, an in and an out plug. Could this old card not have an unamplified plug? It is the same one I plug the powered speakers into.

Thx for the reply.
