thank u for ur help friends....i followed ur advice and downloaded the correct driver from the link provided but on completion of installation an error occurs saying:install realtek HD audio driver failure!![error code:-0001]...What does this mean???Please help!!!

http://www.computing.net/answers/ha...Assuming there's nothing wrong with the mboard, and you downloaded the proper drivers for your exact model and mboard version (there may be several mboard versions - look for the version number or revision number printed on the mboard), these are the only other things I can think of....
Look in your bios Setup and make sure the onboard audio is enabled.
If you also have a sound card in a slot, Windows supports more than one sound chipset on a computer, but only one can be used at a time. You can change which one is used in Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices - Audio tab. You can select which ine you want to use by clicking on the down arrow at the ends of the boxes.
