Hey Everyone,

I have an SB Audigy 2 that I wanted to hook up to the front Headphone and Mic jacks on my case. How can I do this? The motherboard I'm using has AC97 onboard, but I was hoping to run everything through the SB. What's the best thing for me to do?

Thanks, NetRangerM

Plug the microphone cable from the front panel into the microphone input of the SB. You can also try plugging the headphone cable from the front panel into the line out of the SB, but the line out might not have enough output to drive the headphones.

I can't just plug it in to the outputs on the card, because the front jacks don't have cables ending in headphone style plugs. The Mic jack splits into 3 connectors to plug directly into the mobo or sound card, while the Headphone jack cable splits into 5. (For the connector type, picture the type of connector the power switch cable uses to connect to the motherboard.) Any other ideas?

Thanks

Should have gotten a platinum..HAHA!

anway, the best way to look at it, on the sb aud board there should be some inputs. like for a cdrom and what not. the two inner pins are your ground the outer ones are left and right so l|g|g|r. that will work for the input, however sound ouput i'll have to research

I was just about to post the exact same question that netranger is asking....glad I looked around first. The pins on the Audigy 2 card that hook to the platinum face plate connections should be what we are looking for. Unfortunately, I have no idea which pins are which and can't find anything about it on the net. If anybody has a clue or knows where I can get one....PLEASE post! My/our only alternatives would be either scrap the Audigy 2 card and go back to onboard sound....NOPE -- or, pay too much money to get another speaker system with the headphone/mic jacks built-in... NOPE NOPE.

Glad to know I'm not the only one baffled by this. Anyone else have any input on how to pull this off?
