Hi guys
I have a machine set up with a Creative Audigy 2 NX usb sound card that is connected to my Sony receiver via optical.

I have played DVDs via MediaPortal, MediaCenter (MS's MCE edition), PowerDVD and plain old Media player and NONE of them will get the sound card to use the dolby digital. the screen on my receiver says it is receiving 'PCM 48' and indicates its using only the front channels (L/C/R), sub and "Surround", ie: only spitting out one rear channel not 2 seperate ones.

I only have the web-downloaded drivers and am not sure if i should have software for it or not, but it all installs ok... got no options for the outputs though...

Anyone got any ideas on how to get the dolby working?

Thanks

Don't know about the Audigy but with the reciever it may not be able to use the type of Dolby signal you are sending to it. If you have a generic surround setting you might try that. Dolby circuitry is licenced and many component manufacturers elect to use a non - Dolbe solution because of that. With DVD movies there are usually choices between the two. There are also more than one Dolby solution. Check compatibility.

Well, the audigy has the genuine dolby logo on it (im pretty sure), so does the receiver. WMP also shows the dolby logo and from all accounts all should be good. If anyone has the actual CD and can send me an ISO of it please let me know
