Ok, I've narrowed down the problem to the ATX_12V_2X CONNECTOR. When it is plugged in the computer will turn on for about 3 sec then turn off. It does this till I hold down the power button just after it turnes on or I inturrupt the power supply. Without it connected the computer will stay on but nothing shows up on the moniter. Anyone have any ideas? I have a gigabyte ex58-ud3r motherboard with, 6gb patriot memory, an intel i7 920 processor, a visiontek radeon hd 4870 x2 video card, and a corsair tx 850watt power supply.

Forgot to tell when the problem started. First it is a new build. Ok, I got it all booted up installed the OS then put in my mo board drivers disk when it finished installing the drivers it asked me to restart the comp so I did. When it tried to boot back up it started the on off cycle. Not knowing a whole lot about computers I figured it was the drivers that I just installed but seeing as how the comp would not boot I could not do anything about it. I reset the CMOS didn't help. I started asking around and it was suggested that it was just a coincidence and I had a hardware problem. Now after narrowing it down to the current problem (atx 12v 2x) I'm stuck so If you have any help I'll gladly accept that also goes for any consructive criticism you my have on what I should/should not have done. Thanks
