Comment: just built this new system with ATX power supply, when I exit from windows it will not shut down the computer. what causes the pc to power down when windows is shutdown??

Reply: (edit)Well, speaking mechanicly a signal is sent to the motherboard from the harddrive, then the motherboard sends a signal to the power supply to shut it down. You need to enable support for advanced power manegment in you bios if you want the computer to shutdown automaticly.
